EUROSPY | Offscreen
Following the success of the first James Bond movie in the early 1960s, many small Italian, Spanish, French and English productions imitated the famous British agent, hoping to rake in as much money as the Sean Connery super productions. The Euro-spies were born. In these poppy and kitschy B-series, agent 007 became OSS 117, or agent 077.
“Agente 077: Missione Bloody Mary” is the first episode in a trilogy about the adventures of the Italian spy Dick Malloy. A cocktail of action, gadgets and exotic destinations set on Ennio Morricone's music.
Spanish director Jesús “Jess” Franco also surfed the James Bond wave... and Lemmy Caution: in “Attack of the Robots”, he hires Eddie Constantine as the secret agent Al Pereira. Jean-Claude Carrière co-wrote this kooky screenplay that even has science-fiction elements thanks to the presence of weird robot-murderers.
MISSION BLOODY MARY
In the middle of the Cold War, Agent Dick Malloy starts a battle against Black Lily, an organization that stole an atom bomb, which it is now trying to sell to the communists.
ATTACK OF THE ROBOTS
Several prominent figures are killed by robots. But are they really robots, or people who a criminal organization is manipulating? Secret Agent Al Pereira will try to unravel the mystery.
