Themroc

CLAUDE FARALDO / 1973 / FR / 110'
DIG / VO SANS DIAL / OV ZONDER DIAL
In this exhilaratingly tasteless fantasy, Michel Piccoli (known from films such as “Le Mépris”, “La Grande Bouffe” and “Milou en Mai”) plays a man who bids his petty life farewell. He turns his appartment into a cave, while all dialogue turns into a weird proto-language of unintelligible grunts and gibberish. “Themroc” still holds its power as a brutal, anarchic and comically absurd attack on the bourgeoisie and its norms and values.
