TARZOON, SHAME OF THE JUNGLE | Offscreen
The 1970s trend of subversive animated films for adults also produced a Belgian cult classic. Picha’s Tarzan parody, a cocktail of surrealism and highly politically incorrect humor, became a worldwide success and was the very first foreign animated film in the U.S. to receive an X rating.
The restoration of this film by CINEMATEK was made possible thanks to funding from the European Union – NextGenerationEU, with the support of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.
Version restored by CINEMATEK (DCP).
